FMM Press-Ice Polka Dot 1 Icing Cutter Impression Tool
This is a brand new range of icing impression marker tools from FMM. Create a perfectly symmetrical decorative dotted pattern quickly and accurately with ease. Use with sugarpaste, modelling paste, marzipan, or gum paste for instance.
A range of pattern ideas can be created from this Polka Dot 1 Impression Tool… Pipe tiny icing pearls over each indentation, or use these dots as markers for a more intricate design. Ideal for polka dot and ‘Tiffany’ pearl designs, vintage floral prints and cross stitch grids for example.
The pins on the tool are spaced approximately 15mm apart, with each row roughly 7.5mm apart. The tool itself measures approximately 12.5cm x 7.5cm.

To create a clear impression, sugar paste (or other material that is used) must be soft.
To impress the sides of a round or square cake, first decide which will be the back of your cake and start from there. For best results place your cake on a turntable and use one hand to brace the cake and the other hand to hold the Impression tool.
Resting the bottom edge of the Impression tool flat on the board to achieve a perfectly horizontal pattern, use even pressure along the length of the tool to press the pins into the icing. Remove the tool cleanly without dragging.
Align the Press-Ice tool for the next section by inserting the first column of pins into the last row of holes, and press evenly. Continue around the cake finishing off as neatly as possible at the back.
Pipe tiny royal icing pearls over each indentation, or use the precisely placed dots as a base for many other decorative designs. Create impressive symmetrical patterns with speed and ease, by positioning cut-out flowers, polka dots or other decorative shapes over the tiny indentations. No more fiddly, time-consuming measuring and marking out.
